Via the Direct Entry Stream, skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia permanently.
A Labour Agreement Stream might be suitable if you currently work, or will work, for an employer who is party to a labour agreement.
If the person you wish to sponsor already lives in Australia temporarily on a 457 work visa employed in your business, you can nominate them for a 186 permanent visa under the Transition Stream.
Employer Nomination Scheme Visa (Subclass 186)
Your business can nominate a person for a 186 visa under the Direct Entry stream if the person has never worked in Australia, has not held a 457 visa for the last two years with a nominating employer, or if they are applying from outside of Australia.
This visa involves a two-step process; a nomination by an approved Australian employer and a visa application by the skilled overseas worker.
Applicants can be in or outside Australia when they apply for this visa. Applicants must have a valid visa or a bridging visa A, B, or C to apply for this visa in Australia.
