Visa Subclass Permanent: 115 and 835
The Remaining Relative Visa allows you and your family to apply for permanent residency if your near relatives currently live in Australia as an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
To be eligible for the Remaining Relative Visa, there are a number of factors to consider including:
- Whether you have an eligible sponsor
- The level of family support, accommodation and financial assistance your sponsor is able to provide you for at least your first two years in Australia
- Whether you and your family members meet the health and character requirements
It’s important to know the Australian Government caps the number of Remaining Relative Visas granted each year, resulting in very lengthy processing times for this visa. There are also a number of visa conditions and obligations to be aware of both throughout the visa application process as well as once the Remaining Relative Visa has been granted.
