According to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), changes in Accredited Sponsorship policy which came into effect from 1 July 2016 will enable an additional 900 businesses to become eligible for faster visa processing.
Currently processing times for unaccredited 457 Visa Sponsors can reach over 40 days, however the DIBP seeks to reduce this to 5 days for eligible Accredited Sponsors. Accredited Sponsors currently comprise around 200 of Australia’s 34,000 active 457 Visa sponsors.
The Department recently updated Registered Migration Agents on the Accredited Sponsorship implications at a Roadshow which Interstaff attended. Sponsors interested in becoming an Accredited Sponsor are encouraged to contact Interstaff to determine their eligibility to apply for Accredited Sponsorship and access faster visa processing.
