A greater number of Australian businesses with an annual turnover of at least AUD $4 million over the last three years will be eligible for priority visa processing from 1 July 2016, following the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s changes to the Accredited Sponsorship qualifying requirements.
In addition to meeting the new qualifying requirements, business sponsors for 457 visa sub-class applications will also need to have a long history of good dealings with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection in order to apply.
Over coming weeks, the Department will be contacting all businesses which may now be eligible for Accredited Sponsorship benefits, such as streamlined nomination processing, and priority visa processing for 457 visa sub-class employees. The changes will also provide Accredited Sponsors access to a six year business sponsorship validity period rather than the standard five years.
Businesses who have already gained Accredited Sponsorship are able to upgrade their accredited status to access the new streamlined nomination processing benefits following 1 July 2016.
