Cottesloe Beach
Cottesloe beach is one of the most well-known and popular of all Perth beaches for a number of reasons. It’s great for both swimming and walking along, and has a fun lively atmosphere in summer with grassy terraces and picnic areas, pubs and cafes over the road, and even more as you head north towards North Cottesloe.
City Beach
City Beach is a quick and easy drive from the CBD straight down Cambridge Street. It’s a great beach to catch up with friends and family. Above the beach, you’ll find a big grassy area with a playground and BBQ facilities.
Scarborough Beach
Scarborough Beach is another very popular Perth beach, with its white beach and larger waves than most Perth beaches. The surf can be pretty good there! Behind the beach there are grassy parks, a walking/cycling path and plenty of places to get food and drinks.
Hillary’s Boat Harbour Beach and Sorrento Beach
Hillary’s Boat Harbour Beach lies right in the middle of Sorrento Quay (Hillarys Boat Harbour), surrounded by cafes along the boardwalk. After having a swim, you can wander through the markets, walk along the jetties and look at the boats, visit sea-life at AQWA or slip down the waterslides at the Great Escape. Hillary’s Boat Harbour Beach is as calm as a swimming pool, making it perfect for the kids. Bigger kids may like Sorrento, which is great for catching a few waves.
