The visa process to engage skilled Singaporean nationals will now be quicker and easier for business sponsors after amendments to the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
The amendments from 1 December 2017 effectively mean sponsors who nominate an employee who are a citizen, national or permanent resident of Singapore will not need to undertake Labour Market Testing for the applicant. This is similar to Australia’s Free Trade Agreement arrangements for New Zealand nationals.
