Sheila Woods smiling at the Interstaff team in the HQs

Why Interstaff’s Sheila Woods was nominated for the ’40 Under 40′ Business Awards

Immigration Articles | 9 December, 2016 |

The Interstaff team were amped to hear our Managing Director, Sheila Woods was nominated for this year’s 40 Under 40 Business Awards. Sheila was nominated for taking the Interstaff business on a customer-focused journey to drive better value for clients.

Here’s how Sheila led the journey. You can show your support for Sheila and the Interstaff team by voting for her at 40 Under 40.

“In my role as a Registered Migration Agent and Managing Director of Interstaff, I have seen the way that continuing government legislative changes has made it significantly harder to obtain a visa to stay in Australia. Migration can be a contentious issue in the community and the Interstaff business aims to provide clear advice and practical solutions for businesses and individuals about Australia’s visa program.”

The journey towards becoming customer-focused

“My strategy has been to lead the business on a customer focused journey to deliver greater value as migration experts. I led the business to undertake a detailed SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis, which was a team effort and fostered the beginning of a collaborative team culture focused on creating better customer value and a happy working environment.

Since Interstaff has always been known for its service quality with over 25 years of experience in the migration industry, I strongly believed our challenge was to demonstrate our value in the changing market. I conducted a short survey with our business clients to understand what they believed to represent value from a migration agency. This confirmed that our customer-focused strategy aligned with what value meant to them; clear timelines and easy reporting, proactive advice on business impacts that can arise from migration legislation changes, and knowledgeable agents who can determine a migration strategy that helps to meet project or business objectives.

I then led the team through numerous process changes to deliver easy, dashboard style reporting, a dedicated business migration hub complete with tips, FAQ’s, fact sheets and infographics, and upcoming changes will include a new CRM and online chat interactivity to enable a greater level of service and efficiency.”

One team | One dream

“In this year’s brand refresh journey, I encouraged our team to be honest in their contributions as we made decisions on the new look and values of the business. The result was a much stronger team culture and a more focused team who now feel they own the new brand, having been so integral to its creation. The values the team chose to represent the brand are: human, dependable, sharp and expert.”
